Atlanta Market is just around the corner, and we’re so excited. Our decorative home goods will stimulate your imagination as only fine art can do.  

Pillows, bedding, throws, and more … We reveal them all in our new showroom in Atlanta in AmericasMart 1, Floor 9, Showroom D4. You’ll see new decorative pillows, each one an exciting gift idea, and dramatic new duvet ensembles complemented by comfy yet luxurious throw blankets. 

Expect soft new pastels that conjure the romanticism of living.  And experience dazzling hues that reimagine what your living space can do for you.

We’re bringing it all to Atlanta!  Remember, the show starts Tuesday, January 10th, and runs through Monday, January 16th.

With the hushed, misty beauty of Renoir, one might think this Rose Fog Throw is the work of an Impressionist (above right).  But its lineage is much more recent.  This richly imagined throw blanket will keep you toasty warm as the winter fog meets daybreak.

There’s so much to say about Edgar Degas.  The oldest of five children, his mother was New Orleans Creole, and his father a French banker.  Painting since childhood, he turned his room into an artist’s studio.  At 21, he met Ingres, who became a profound influence on the young painter.  Degas produced works that he intended to show at the elite Salon, but most attracted little attention there …   Our story continues below …

These lovely floral decorative pillows evoke the storied history of Meissen porcelain.

Meissen is considered the first successful production of porcelain in Europe.  Started in 1710, it was funded by King Augustus II the Strong.  This support encouraged the participation and employment of many talented artisans, enriching the picture we have of Meissen today. ​

Meet Jacobus Van Looy, a Dutch painter and writer.

When he was five, his mother died.  His father, a carpenter, lost his eyesight, and then his job.  Soon after that, his father died, and young Jac found himself in the Haarlem Municipal Orphanage.  While there, he trained to become a house painter and was able to take drawing classes.  He won the Prix de Rome, a scholarship for art students.  This enabled him to travel to Italy, Spain, and Morocco.  

Rest your eyes upon the soft field of delightful clover.  Now and then a purple-blue bloom plays with your attention and tickles your senses. There’s so much to enjoy in this finely detailed art pillow.

The striations of rust and red hues upon gold make a vivid statement. These beautiful works of art, inspired by an anonymous painter, bring a delightful energy to your living space.  

​Made of luxurious cotton sateen, designs are printed on the front and back. Edges are invisible-edge finished, and a hidden zipper is located at the bottom of each pillow. Inserts are stuffed with feather and down. Covers are removable and machine washable in cold gentle cycle. Hang dry or tumble dry in low heat and warm iron if necessary. Each pillow is hand made one at a time.

Returning to our story of Degas … Disenchanted with the stuffy, rigid Salon, he joined forces with a small group of young artists who were challenging the Salon’s definition of art. Derisively called “Impressionists” by an influential critic, they created a new audience for their new approaches.  Degas organized exhibitions of the new group’s work, but his disinterest in landscapes, and in painting outdoors, led to much conflict.  The group disbanded after 12 years.  Today Degas is revered for his masterly depiction of movement, and for his enigmatic portraits.  

That energy, that movement, shines brightly in tremendous hues of gold in Degas Gold Tutu, above.  See how the light bounces and springs off the dancers in Degas Turquoise? ​

Gathering Leaves

Spades take up leaves
No better than spoons,
And bags full of leaves
Are light as balloons.

I make a great noise
Of rustling all day
Like rabbit and deer
Running away.

But the mountains I raise
Elude my embrace,
Flowing over my arms
And into my face.

I may load and unload

And what have I then?

Next to nothing for weight,
And since they grew duller
From contact with earth,
Next to nothing for color.

Next to nothing for use,
But a crop is a crop,
